Through Her Eyes: A Celebration of Women’s Creativity
Featuring, Silent Art Auction and live performances by Madviolet and Alicia Glenn
The Women’s Empowerment Committee (WEC) of the Arts and Science Undergraduate Society of Queen’s University in conjunction with the Queen’s Entertainment Agency present Through Her Eyes: A Celebration of Women’s Creativity on Saturday, March 20th, 2004 at The Grad Club, Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario. The evening will feature a Silent auction of female artwork and a concert composed of an all female line up featuring Madviolet with Alicia Glenn.
Doors open at 7:30 p.m. with a wine and cheese reception. Entrance is a $5.00 suggested donation at the door. All proceeds will go to support the Kingston Interval House Women’s Shelter, Dawn House Women’s Shelter and Sexual Assault Centre Kingston.
Last night's event at the Grad Club was enjoyed by all! The Women's Empowerment Committee seemed to auction off most, if not all, of their art work, raising some money for Kingston Interval House Women’s Shelter, Dawn House Women’s Shelter and Sexual Assault Centre Kingston.
I had a great time performing with Eddie Rothschild, who played drums for me last night, and Madviolet played a very impressive set! The crowd was pretty small all night, but those who attended seemed to have a lot of fun, and enjoyed the music.
Thank you to everyone who came out, despite the gross weather. It was a great night! Here are a few pictures from both of our sets. If you have any from the event that you'd like me to post, just post a comment, and I'll see what I can do!
My next gig will be this Wednesday, March 24th at the Scherzo Pub here in Kingston. I will be providing some entertainment for an art auction organized by a friend of mine. For more information, email me at alicia@aliciaglenn.com.
