The Tom Glenne 5.5 invade Third Floor Reilly's on April 8th in the final installment of the Tom Glenne benefits. A long-time rocker and club booker in T.O., Tom joins bands WISER, Canary Mine, and ensemble Josh Holden in the single LARGEST collaboration of musicians on the Toronto scene. An estimated 50+ local indie artists will assemble on and off stage to join Tom and Josh Holden along with more interpretive dancers, performance poets, and guaranteed chaos in sending Tom the Hell Outta Toronto.

Direct from the source:

WISER are reggae tinged roots music - with lots of interesting instruments and sounds.
Check out www.wisermusic.om

Canary Mine are an amazing acoustic hiphop band from kingston.

The tom glenne 5.5 will be focusing on their funkiest and catchiest material - reining the wild experimentation of their last 4 shows to add to this bill of bootyshaking dance bands.

josh holden is a mysterious band of undetermined membership who have been playing gigs here in toronto for 7 years. featuring a range of instruments from horns to glockenspeils, xylophones, poets, and huge gangs of acoustic instrument and precussion players who play while moving through the audience - they have always amazed audiences. for this show they will feature their largest memebership ever - indeed leader tom glenne has invited every musician he kno(w in toronto and asked them to invite all the musicians they know. you, dear reader, are now invited if you have not been ! email tom (tglenne@hotmail.com) or talk to him on monday at freetimes for info. all skill levels, participation levels, and instruments/poets/singers needed. lets make it huge.
yes, Josh Holden WANTS YOU.

In the final push to pay for tom's imminent departure from toronto, there will be a bachelor/bachelorette auction with numerous gorgeous, singles volunteering to raise funds for both tom and several worthy charities. of course tom will be one of the auctioned bachelors, come see who else is on the block !
